Over 25 years ago, God called me into ministry. After running from that call, I finally surrendered and here we are. I tell people that serving in youth ministry is the most devastatingly rewarding job you can have. The joy of seeing lives changed is sometimes diminished by seeing lives broken. My desire is to help people grow in a living relationship with God. Through weekly Bible studies to retreats, God has given me the opportunity to work with teenagers and families more than just in the church I serve.
When God moved me into full time ministry I prayed specifically to be able to help other youth ministers. As a bivocational minister, I spent so much time trying to understand how to plan budgets, events, and studies. So many times I felt like I was all alone. I had a couple men invest in me and help me along the way and I wanted to be able to help ministers, to share ideas, help them find creative ways to reach students and families. From writing curriculum to designing graphics to making videos, I now had the ability and time, and wanted to be that help to someone.
Over the years I have seen many changes in teenagers, but one thing remains. They all have a desire to be accepted. My hope is they will find that the God of Creation loves them and accepts them as they are. His love for them is to great to allow them to stay where they are, so He can provide them a way to find His peace, His purpose and His love.
